*It is very typical in most Canadian families for teenagers (both Canadians and
International Students) to prepare their own breakfasts and lunches on school days. The
homestay family will purchase foods that the teenagers wish for these meals, and will
assist with their preparation until the students are comfortable in the kitchen.
