Application
Fee
$200 CDN
non-refundable fee must be sent with the original
completed application form. This fee is
payable to the School District No 48 (Howe Sound).
:: Tuition
Fee
The tuition fee is $12,000 CDN per school
year (10 months, 2 semesters) and $6000 for a 1/2 year (5 months, 1 semester). This payment is due upon the applicant's
receipt of their Student Acceptance Letter. This fee is payable to School District No 48 (Howe
Sound) by certified cheque, bank draft or money
order.
There is a full
refund if the Study Permit is not approved
by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Please note
that it is the responsibility of the student to
obtain a Study Permit from the Canadian
High Commission in the applicant’s country of
residence.
:: Medical
Fees
The
medical fee is $375 CDN per semester ($750 for a 2 semester, full academic year) . All
international students MUST have basic medical
coverage. This fee is payable to School District No.
48 (Howe Sound).
:: Homestay
Placement Fee
The one-time homestay placement fee is $300 CDN.
This fee is payable to School District No. 48 (Howe
Sound).
:: Homestay
Fees
The homestay fee effective September 1, 2007 ranges from $800 - $900 CDN
(depending on the community). This fee is usually
payable directly to the homestay family on the first
of each month.
:: Other
Fees
Airport
Pickup and Drop off for Squamish (each way) - $75 CDN.
Airport Pickup and Drop off for Whistler and Pemberton (each way) - $125 CDN.
Phone/internet lines - monthly rate that is variable depending on service provider.
:: Refund
Policy
In the event that an applicant does not come to Canada or decides to leave the Howe Sound school system for personal reasons, a portion of the paid tuition fee will be refunded. All requests must be made in writing. The following refund procedures will apply to International Students:
a. A full refund will be paid to students who show proof that the Canadian High Commission (Canada Immigration) has refused their application for a student visa.
b. A 50% refund will be paid to students who withdraw prior to the end of the first month of the education program.
c. No refund will be paid to students who withdraw after the end of the first month of their education program (or have an extended absence), nor will a refund be paid to students who are removed from the program at any time due to a violation of school or program rules.
d. Students who are forced to withdraw from the program due to unforeseen circumstances, such as death in the immediate family or an illness, or other circumstances deemed valid by the Superintendent or designate, shall receive a pro-rated refund of tuition fees upon submitting proof supporting their reason to leave.
e. Students who become Landed Immigrants during their term of study will not receive reimbursement of fees beyond the stated policy. |
